Embracing Change: Our First Week on the Road After Farewell

Updated: Sep 7, 2023

Our final week in our home state of Minnesota was a whirlwind of activity. 🏠 The days were jam-packed with last-minute tasks that needed tackling. We knew it was going to be a hectic time, but oh my, it was quite the journey. Staying at a campground close to home allowed us to share our new rig with loved ones before our official send-off.

Our tribe of friends and family truly are the 𝕓𝕖𝕤𝕥. From bonfires to gazing at the stars, heartwarming dinners, impromptu dance sessions, and even moments of tears – it was a spectacular blend of emotions. The joy was palpable, yet the farewells were heart-wrenching. 💖 As thrilled as we are to embark on this new chapter, there's a touch of melancholy turning the page on what's been.

🌄 Even now, the reality is yet to fully sink in. Departing Minnesota on Saturday morning felt like setting out on any other adventure. As the sun rose a few days later, we found ourselves in a moment suspended between what was and what will be.

Originally, our plan was to kick off with boondocking. But Mother Nature had her own agenda. A scorching heatwave had us rethinking our strategy, as temperatures flirted with the 100°F mark. Spontaneity led us to switch gears and opt for full hookups – a choice that paid off. Our chosen campground, a familiar one, provided a smooth start. Did everything go off without a hitch? Uh, not exactly. 😬 For the full scoop, you'll have to catch the upcoming video!

This week, our campsite is a slice of heaven. Lucas's selection skills are on point – our spot offers an unobstructed view of Lake Legion, a picturesque scene right at our doorstep. Just a road's breadth away, we wasted no time circumnavigating the entire lake. 🏞️ With the forecast predicting soaring temperatures in the high 90s, it's the perfect chance to finally christen our paddle boards! But that's not all – our sense of exploration is taking us even further. This week, we're thrilled to share that we're diving into an underground adventure with a Historic Lantern Tour at Jewel Cave National Monument. Exploring the hidden depths, illuminated only by lantern light, promises an experience like no other.
